Here are some recommendations:

Kapruner Törl – Valley crossing from the Stubachtal Valley into the Kaprunertal Valley

Starting at the Berghotel Rudolfshütte, the initial descent takes you southwards toward the DSL Medelz. It then turns to the left to the Steinerne Stiege, where ruptured terrain is crossed using iron ladders and steel ropes. This passage can be avoided by diverting via the Schafbühel. Continue downhill toward the Eisboden, where both tracks join again. From there, carry on to the glacial stream at the south bank of the Tauernmoossee. Here is where the ascent towards the Kapruner Törl begins. Please take note of the signposts and markings! Moving along the Kapruner Törl, the Mooserboden reservoir comes into view. Passing the Heidnische Kirche, you will shortly reach the bus stop. Using buses and an inclined lift, you will reach the Kapruner Tal valley at the Kesselfall-Alpenhaus.

Walking time: approx. 6 hours

Highest point: 2,639 m – Kapruner Törl

Krefelder Hut – Kaprun via the Kleinschmiedingerscharte

Starting from the Berghotel Rudolfshütte, walk across the Schafbühel towards the Tauernmoossee. Once you reach the lake, cross the dam wall and walk along the Krefelderweg track to the Reichenberg Cirque. From there, a steep ascent leads up in a northerly direction to the Kleetörl. Keep to the right and follow the Krefelderweg track across the Schmiedingerkar Cirque toward the Kleinen Schmiedinger. Then carry on via the Moränensteig, a steep road, to the Krefelder Hut.

Walking time: approx. 7 hours

Highest point: 2,728 m – Kleinschmiedingerscharte

Starting from the Berghotel Rudolfshütte, walk along the glacier information trail to the Sonnblick Glacier. From the rain gauge, carry on past the Schafkoglsee towards the Upper Fürleggpfeiler and then across a small firn area to the highest-situated lake in the Hohe Tauern – the Eissee (2,913 m). From there, carry on to the middle summit of the Hochfürlegg. Once arrived, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view across the Großglockner, Großvenediger and Watzmann right through to the Dolomites.

Walking time: approx. 4-5 hours

Highest point: 2,943 m - Hochfürlegg

Oberwalder hut via Ödenwinkelscharte

Starting from the Berghotel Rudolfshütte, walk along the glacier trail into the Ödenwinkel. Once you reach the Ödenwinkel Glacier, cross the glacier (which is very steep in parts) uphill in easterly direction via firn fields. From there, a very steep ascent leads to the Upper Ödenwinkelscharte and the Pasterzenboden and then to the Oberwalder Hut.

Walking time: approx. 6 hours

Highest point: 3,233 m - Upper Ödenwinkelscharte

Sudetendeutsch hut - via Silesia Höhenweg

Sudeten German Hut – via Silesia High Route

Starting at the Berghotel Rudolfshütte, walk to the Kalser Törl. From there, walk downhill to the Erdigen Eck. Turn to the right there and you will find yourself on the challenging Silesia High Route. From there, it is all the way up to the Seetroges Plateau. A slightly steep ascent leads to the Gradetzsattel, the highest point of the Glockner route. The Sudeten German Hut is reached after a further 45 minutes walking time.
